Artist Submissions
If you would like the opportunity to participate in the MIJF ‘07 Jam Session Series, please adhere to the following guidelines when submitting materials for consideration.
Guidelines
We will accept Artist submissions for participation in the MIJF ’07 Jam Sessions from July 1 - August 15. Please note that you will need to re-submit materials for each year you wish to be considered, as space limitations precludes us from keeping submissions from previous years on file.
Who should apply: Both emerging and established Jazz artists will be considered for the Second Annual Metropolitan International Jazz Festival 2007, with a focus on established and regional artists.
Please *mail submissions to:
The Shortcake Entertainment Group, LLC
P.O. Box 2172
Bowie, MD 20718
Attn: Jam Session’s Artist Submissions
Note: Due to the enormously high volume of submissions received, we are unable to return materials submitted to us for consideration.
All submissions should include the following:
- *CD recording (the CD and CD case must be clearly labeled)
- Biography (brief)
- Photograph
- Contact Information: Name of contact person, mailing address, telephone number, e-mail and web site.
Artist Submission Status
We will contact you via mail or e-mail to confirm receipt of your submission. If you do not receive an acknowledgement within three weeks of sending your submission, you may contact us at jamsess@shortcakeentgroup.com.
Although we sincerely appreciate your interest in the MIJF '07, please be aware that the large volume of submissions received prohibits us from listening to or offering assessment and feedback on all submissions. Therefore, only those who are being considered for inclusion in the MIJF ‘07 will be contacted by mid-August. Please do not contact our office unless asked to do so, as the overwhelming demand for performance opportunities often precludes us from accepting or returning solicitation calls.
Thank you for complying with the aforementioned guidelines. We appreciate your dedication to jazz and are honored that you are interested in participating in the Second Annual MIJF '07.
*Audiocassette, VHS & DVD recordings will not be accepted.
*Although our organization presents a number of events throughout the year, we only accept artist submissions for our annual Metropolitan International Jazz Festival during the aforementioned time frame.
*EPKs may be submitted to jamsess@shortcakeentgroup.com.
